INJURY PAIN PHYSIO RECOVERY
Our Passion
We are passionate about our clients obtaining a successful functional outcome following sports injury/ traumatic injury/post surgical orthopaedic procedures, spinal dysfunction/issues and long standing complex muscle skeletal issues (muscle, joints and nerve irritation) and look forward to being given a chance to help our patients back up from injury and turn things around so that our patients recover back to their physical fitness. We also want to be the last place you come to with a longstanding complex issue that no other person has been able to get to the root.
We believe in addressing the root cause of our patients signs & symptoms and coming up with the right intervention to assist them back to their daily active lifestyle/activities of daily living. We would achieve this with an Initial assessment, forming a clinical impression of the presenting problem, a discussion of a treatment management program/ Plan of action and follow up treatment sessions which may include treatments tools such as Acupuncture, manual therapy, soft tissue technique and an appropriate management rehab program which we aim to progress to ensure that long term carry over between sessions with ourselves and for the future is achieved. We also aim to advise and educate our patients during the sessions and at discharge to promote these long term results.
Our Director
Leona qualified from the University of East London in 1996 and has since worked in various musculoskeletal environments, which include public (NHS), private and corporate sectors respectively and has gained wide experience in treating a wide range of acute and chronic road traffic related disorders, occupational disorders and sports and spinal injuries. She has developed her skills through postgraduate qualifications in Acupuncture, Orthopaedic Medicine, and also manual therapy . She uses Acupuncture as an adjunct in her clinical practice. Her outlook is to promote pain control which, she feels, is crucial in obtaining a successful functional outcome with injury.
Leona has a special interest in rehabilitation, biomechanics dysfunctions associated with peripheral and spinal presentation and complex spinal dysfunctions and has previously assisted in the London Marathon. She believes in promoting long term results for longstanding symptoms through education, self-management and appropriate applied treatment techniques.
Outside of work, she enjoys high Intensity training but, appreciates the balance of a low impact fitness regime to Incorporate postural and core set muscles. She enjoys travelling and takes pleasure in strumming up recipes approved by unsuspecting friends as well as impromptu restaurant sampling with friends who enjoy this escapade as much as she. A few years ago, she overcame her apprehension of swimming by taking the plunge and learnt how to swim as an adult!
